Are you letting your thoughts ruin your relationship? Dr. Julie Hanks from Wasatch Family Therapy said to think of a relationship situation that is causing you pain and ask yourself the following questions:

  1. Is it true?
    • Yes or no? If no, skip to number 3
  2. Can I absolutely know it’s true?
  3. How do I react, what happens, when I believe that thought?
  4. Who would I be without that thought? 

Now write an opposite statement, and go through the four questions again. Dr. Hanks said that the point isn’t to change your thoughts, but to be more aware of your thoughts.
