In celebration of the upcoming Veterans Day, as well as the on going dedication the military and veteran community, The National Ability Center is honoring U.S. active duty and veteran service members. Lieutenant Colonel Tres Smith, a retired service member of the United States Marine Corps and key speaker at the luncheon, came on the show today to tell us about the annual Saluting Our Heroes luncheon event taking place today.
The annual Saluting our Heroes luncheon is being held today, Wednesday, November 7. The event is being held at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City and will run from 12 p.m. until 130 p.m.
The luncheon invites and celebrates current and veteran members of the armed forces, business and community partners who want to support the military community, as well as anyone wanting to learn more about these types of programs available in Utah.
All funds raised at the Saluting Our Heroes event will directly support programs for military service members and their families at the National Ability Center. The National Ability Center currently offers programs and services to more than 1,350 veterans and family members.
For over 30 years, the National Ability Center has offered a wide range of individual and group programs for service members and their families ranging from solo activities to seven-day retreats. All programs are designed to develop and strengthen independence and health and wellness fueled by achieving a balanced and physical, active lifestyle and assists in creating a steady transition from military to civilian life.
