A miracle recovery! How a toddler drowned and survived

GTU Featured Guest

This story is nothing short of a miracle.

On February 29, 2016, 2-year-old Eden Carlson drowned in her family pool. She was submerged for anywhere between five and 15 minutes… and after 100 minutes of continuous CPR, she was miraculously revived, but that wasn’t the end of it. She was brain dead.

Doctors told Eden’s parents that if she survived the next 48 hours, she would permanently be left in a vegetative state, no brain activity, no treatment available. But her parents did not give up hope. They researched any and all things that might help bring their little girl back, which led them to Dr. Harch in New Orleans. He began hyperbaric oxygen therapy on Eden, and they continued normobaric oxygen at home. She made a miraculous recovery and is the first person in medical history to regrow brain tissue!

Eden’s MRI is now ‘normal’ today.

Eden and her mom Kristal came all the way from their home in Arkansas to share their message of hope.
