Mom and blogger Brittney Hanks from Homegrown Traditions got creative with Jessie this morning as she shared her ideas for staving off cold weather boredom at home with the kids.

From her gumdrop and toothpick creations, masking tape cities, a toy animal bubble bath and no-cook play dough, there is something to keep kids of every age entertained.

No-cook play dough

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 3-4 Tbsp Jello or Koolaid powder
  • 1 cup hot water
  1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl.
  2. Stir until combined, then knead with a little extra flour until the desired consistency is reached.
