GMU - Featured On

May is Military Appreciation Month and to celebrate Utah Red Cross is finding ways to give back to the members of the armed forces. Kirsten Stuart joined Good Morning Utah to discuss programs they are working on.

For more information visit Red Cross Utah’s website.

Included below is some of what was discussed:

Resiliency Workshops  –  Free for veterans, active military, spouses of military, guard, reservists,  family, and caregivers of military. Workshops that help military and those related to military during life-altering situations.

Hero Care Network  – Facilitating emergency communications between military members (usually stationed abroad) and their families in times of emergency or crisis, such as sickness, death or other important issues such as the birth of a child.  It is important to note that the Red Cross is the only organization sanctioned by the Department of Defense to fulfill this role.

Financial Assistance – Work with Military Aid societies to help with emergency financial assistance with emergency situations.

Holiday Mail for Heroes – Send Cards to veterans and military for the holidays.  Can set up an event and collect cards and SAF will deliver them to Veterans looking for Cards for Veteran’s Day.
