Canyons School District is helping protect kids from gangs

GMU - Featured On

The Canyons School District is committed to helping protect your children from gangs. Shelley McCall, a community school facilitator, joined Good Morning Utah to talk about ways they protect children from gang violence and from getting involved with gangs.

Included below is more information on what was discussed:

The organization Choose Gang Free provides prevention and intervention for students and youth across Salt Lake County.  They provide education for students, parents, teachers and communities on the impacts of gang membership, recruitment, and means to protect children from experiencing life in or around a gang.  Participants in the workshops will learn how to identify possible gang membership and how you can help any youth in need.
