Organizations understand the need for being prepared and ready for disasters, but often consider the process for getting more prepared cumbersome and complicated. Richard Woodruff and Steve Sayer from the American Red Cross Utah Region joined Good Morning Utah with information about a tool that makes doing so easier.
That tool is called the Ready Rating Program. The website has users make a profile and take an assessment that will help track improvements through the end of the year. The assessment consists of 5 sections that score emergency preparedness efforts in terms of commitment, knowledge of hazard vulnerability, emergency planning, plan implementation and community resiliency, which are the essentials of preparedness.
A program guide then shows businesses how they can improve.
