Patrick Beatty is a Broadcast Film and TV Critic, and a member of the Critics Choice Association, The Hollywood Critics Association, and the Utah Film Critics Association. Patrick has always connected to people through entertainment, and his passion comes from the conversations he has with anyone who loves movies. Some of his favorites include Mad Max: Fury Road, Ferris Buellers Day Off, Dawn of The Planet of The Apes, and The Dark Knight Trilogy. He’s participated as a voting press member in the Sundance Film Festival, SXSW, and The Tribeca Film Festival, and served as a celebrity guest moderator and panelist at FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention for over three years.
He’s reviewed film and television for over eight years, starting on YouTube filming, writing, and editing his own videos, then evolving to his own platform, PatrickBeattyReviews.com. Patrick began exploring written reviews as opposed to YouTube on-camera reviews in order to expand to different formats and learn new styles of criticism. He attended his first Sundance in 2020, which led to Patrick being given the opportunity to start a new Movie Review Segment, “Friday Films” for ABC4 Utah’s #1 lifestyle show, Good Things Utah.
He continued to review both film and television for Good Things Utah, exploring unique and creative ways to tell viewers whether the weekend new releases were worth their time and money. You can watch Patrick currently on ABC4 Daily Dish, on his own review segment called “See it, or Skip It” every Friday at 12:30 p.m. MT.
