Nick McGurk is an Emmy Award winning journalist and a Utah native — and he couldn’t be happier to be covering news, and raising a family, in his home state.
Nick is from Salt Lake City, but he has worked as a journalist all over the country: from Washington, D.C., to Washington State, and many places in between.
Nick graduated from The Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University — majoring in broadcast journalism and minoring in German. He’s worked for CNN, Bloomberg News, and even Deutsche Welle Radio in Bonn, Germany.
Nick started his on-air reporting career in Clarksburg, West Virginia, at WBOY-TV. He then worked at WNDU-TV in South Bend, Indiana. After that, he covered Northern Colorado for KUSA-TV, the NBC affiliate in Denver, Colorado.
Most recently, Nick worked as a reporter for KIRO-TV, the CBS affiliate in Seattle, WA.
When he and his wife found out they were having a second child, they knew they wanted to get closer to family in Utah!
Nick has a young son and daughter, but his first child is Crouton — the Pomeranian-Pekingese goofball who often graces Nick’s Facebook page and social media accounts.
So, please follow Nick on Facebook, where he posts a generous combination of Crouton photos and behind-the-scenes news videos and posts on Facebook.
