
Nicea DeGering is proud to be one of the hosts on the Emmy award-winning ABC4 morning show, Good Things Utah. She is also the entertainment/lifestyle host and anchor on ABC4’s Midday & CW30.
After growing up in Orem and graduating from BYU in Communications Broadcast/Journalism, Nicea became the Crime Reporter at ABC4 at the age of 23. Over the next several years she covered the police response to the Salt Lake City tornado, security at the 2002 Winter Olympics and Elizabeth Smart’s disappearance. She produced special reports on the gang movement from Las Vegas to Utah and took viewers inside the FBI headquarters in Quantico, Virginia. She anchored the ABC4 Weekend news, and early mornings on AM Express.
When Good Things Utah debuted in October of 2002, Nicea moved from the news desk to entertainment. As one of the original hosts, she has had the privilege of interviewing everyone from the latest Bachelorette, to Mitt Romney, Garth Brooks and all the inspiring everyday Utahns in between. Nicea has introduced GTU guests from locations in Hawaii, Disneyland, and on the set of Dancing With The Stars.
Nicea loves to spend time with her two teenage daughters, run, hike, read, ski and pretty much anything else her goldendoodle Miles wants her to do.
