Kayla Baggerly has been writing ever since she could pick up a pen. That passion for words later helped her discover her love for journalism. She returns to ABC4 after interning with Good Things Utah in 2019. This time, on the news side. She’s excited to be sharing important stories about Utah, her home state.
Kayla comes from Utah Valley University as an Outstanding Graduate with a degree in communication, emphasizing in journalism and minoring in digital media. Beyond her studies, she also danced for the UVU Ballroom Dance Company and was a part of the UVU Review. Her proudest accomplishments there were serving as editor-in-chief, starting the local-music focused podcast Valley Vibes, earning an SPJ award for her “Latter-day LGBTQ+” series and creating a dedicated broadcast section in the newsroom. She also interned for Utah Valley Magazine and worked as a Presidential Intern for the Office of Inclusion and Diversity at UVU. When she’s not in the newsroom, she can be found reading, playing piano, spending time with her dog or hunting for vinyl records.
