Jon Du Pre returns to Utah , and to the television station where his career began. “I’m delighted to be back home in one of the fastest growing, most dynamic, interesting, and beautiful places in America.“ he says.
Fresh out of BYU, Jon started as a part-time reporter and stringer for KTVX, before his career took him to places such as Green Bay, Boston, and Phoenix, including a stint as a network correspondent stationed in Los Angeles, covering the western U.S. and Central America. Along the way, he has picked up a few Emmy awards as well as a Golden Mic, and numerous accolades from the Associated Press.
Jon’s journalism is not limited to his broadcasting. He penned a memoir entitled The Prodigal Father – A True Story of Tragedy, Survival, and Reconciliation in an American Family (Hay House, 2000) which enjoyed Amazon.com Bestseller status for eight weeks and was optioned for a feature film by Disney. Jon is currently working on the sequel, tentatively entitled Brothers and Keepers.

When he’s not chasing stories and delivering the news of the day, Jon can probably be found training for a triathlon.
