Jillian Smukler joined the ABC4 News team as a reporter in May 2021 and was promoted to morning anchor in October 2021. You can watch her weekday mornings, 5-8 a.m. on ABC4 and Utah’s CW30!
She came from Eugene, Oregon where she worked at KEZI, the #1 station in the market.
There, she produced and anchored KEZI 9 News at 5, 6, and 11 p.m. on the weekends and reported during the week.
In her first-year reporting, she was nominated for an Emmy for her live coverage on first responders being ambushed by a gunman.
As a journalist based in her college town, Jillian was fortunate to cover topics she is passionate about and a community she loves. She graduated from the University of Oregon in June 2018 with an emphasis on Broadcast Journalism.
