Elena Castro is a Utah native from sunny St. George. Since childhood, Elena has enjoyed broadcast news, watching leaders of the industry tell compelling and informative stories. She didn’t realize it was something she could do until she reached college. After several enlightening years at Brigham Young University, Elena graduated with her degree in Journalism in December of 2021.
While at BYU, Elena wrote for the Daily Universe, the College of Fine Arts and Communications, interned at ABC4’s Good Things Utah, and earned a student Emmy for producing a documentary short. Elena has made her way back to ABC4 as a full-time reporter.
When Elena is not scrolling Instagram for the latest pop culture news, or investigating crime mysteries, you can find her at home cooking up a storm in the kitchen, or packing for her next flight out to New York City — where she visits as often as she can.
