Danielle MacKimm is an East Coast native. She was born and raised in Fairfield County, Connecticut, just a short stretch from the Big Apple. Danielle moved to Utah on a whim in 2020 and jump-started her dream career in journalism shortly after at ABC4 in 2021.
Danielle has had a passion for writing for as long as she can remember. A creative thinker — some may even say “daydreamer” — she enjoys storytelling and playing with words.
Other than putting pen to paper, some of Danielle’s favorite things include her small black cat, Onyx, coffee in the morning, reading psychological thrillers — yes, very niche — Trader Joe’s, New York bagels, and interacting with, well, anybody. Danielle is that overly friendly, somewhat intrusive person who compliments strangers on the street.
When she’s not churning words out on her keyboard, you can catch Danielle exploring Salt Lake’s coffee or beer scene, cooking up elaborate meals while dancing in her kitchen, phoning family back home, and every once in a while attempting to walk Onyx in her cat backpack, which she seemed to enjoy once but has since sworn off.
With writing in her genes, Danielle is extremely grateful to be on ABC4’s digital team doing what she loves most. In the future, Danielle strives to intertwine her enthusiasm for writing and her adoration of people. Though young, she has big aspirations.
