Bob Bedore has lived his life with the motto, “I Make Yes Happen”, and it is this way of thinking that led him to the ABC4 Pinpoint Weather Team in a very untraditional route.
Bob started at ABC4 on the Assignment Desk but soon started filling in as a Breaking News Reporter. Then when a need arose on the Weather Team for someone to fill in quickly, they asked if he could learn this new skill. Bob’s immediate answer was, “yes” and it was off to races (or green screen). He’ll be the first to tell you that his first few shows were heavily reliant upon personality than actual weather knowledge, but a love for being able to make actual forecasts rapidly took over his days. The hard work paid off as Bob now joins Utah’s Most Accurate Forecast Team – and will do everything he can to make sure that title never slips.
Bob is no stranger to Utah in the entertainment world. He has performed on almost every stage in northern Utah and was an owner of Off Broadway Theater in Salt Lake City. He is also the founder of the comedy improv troupe, Quick Wits, where he still enjoys performing and has done nearly 4,000 shows. Bob has also toured as a stand up comedian, spent several years in radio, appeared in a few films, and even hosted a live children’s television show for a few years in Salt Lake.
When not performing Bob prefers to just spend time with his family, playing some of his huge board game collection, and walking his dog. He enjoys writing and has written several plays, screenplays, a few books, and anything else he can work on.
But mostly he is just grateful for this new chapter in his life with the amazing team at ABC4 and will always say that when given the option, always remember that saying “yes” opens doors and makes a lot more fun. Find your way to “Make Yes Happen”!
