Ali Monsen

Ali Monsen calls herself a Utah girl, born and raised, doing work she loves in the place she loves.

Ali graduated from Brigham Young University with a broadcast journalism degree in 2013.  There, she anchored and reported for KBYU’s “ElevenNews at Noon” and was nationally recognized for her work. Ali received multiple awards from The Society of Professional Journalists and played a key role in winning ElevenNews the title, “Nation’s #1 College Newscast.” Ali graduated in the top 5 percent of her class.

Ali did not waste any time nailing down a job after college.  She quickly became a news reporter for ABC 4 Utah and has since made channel 4 her “TV home.”  Ali spent three and a half years reporting breaking news, crime, and politics, while also enterprising her own investigative and feature reports.  She loves telling Utahns‘ stories and connecting with people, which is why she joined the Good Things Utah team as a regular host in Fall 2017.

These days, Ali enjoys doing special projects and freelance work throughout the state. She is always open to new opportunities and enjoys being creative.  In addition to her work at ABC 4 Utah, Ali teaches several styles of dance including jazz, ballet, contemporary, and hip-hop.

Ali’s greatest love of all is her family. She married her best friend and sweetheart in 2011 and are parents to a beautiful girl. Ali’s biggest fans are her five younger brothers and parents, who watch her on ABC4 Utah every day.
