BOULDER, Colo. (ABC 4 Sports) - Spencer Dinwiddie scored 13 points and had a key block in the late going, helping Colorado pull away for a 60-50 victory over Utah on Thursday night.

Sabatino Chen added 12 points and Andre Roberson had 10 as Colorado (18-8, 8-6 Pac-12) rebounded from its overtime loss to Arizona State last weekend despite missing freshman star Josh Scott, who sat out with a concussion suffered in the game against the Sun Devils.

“We turned the ball over nine times in the first half and then they scored 21 points off our miscues for the game," Utes head coach Larry Krystkowiak said."We were not dealing with their defense on the pick-and-roll effectively, we didn’t get to 50-50 balls and at times we seemed to just throw the ball in the air. At the end though, we missed open baskets. We had a chance to get it to two with an open three-point look but just couldn’t knock it down.”

The Buffaloes gained a split of their season series with the Utes, who took the first meeting 58-55 in Utah earlier this month.
Jordan Loveridge had 12 points to lead Utah (11-15, 3-11 Pac-12). Jason Washburn and Brandon Taylor added 10 points apiece.

“Their pick-and-roll pressure, as well as their full court pressure, really sped us up offensively," Krystkowiak added."We had worked on slowing things down this week but they forced us to burn some timeouts early. We have to be stronger with the ball, rip through the defender, but we were off balance a lot.”

The Utes next play at Cal Thursday night.

It’s true that turnovers really hurt Utah’s chances last night, but Colorado really had some players step up to cover for Josh Scott’s absence to get the win. I was in my office at DISH when one of my coworkers stepped in for a second and told me the win was good to see a strong outing by CU to get them back on track. I’m glad that I set a reminder for this game through the Game Finder app on my DISH Hopper so I didn’t miss it when I got home. I like that I can set reminders for CU games more quickly by using this feature.
