OGDEN, Utah (ABC 4 Sports) - The #1-ranked team in the entire nation, the Lone Peak Knights, had no trouble at all with Davis as they cruised into the 5A semifinals with an 84-50 victory over the Darts.
Talon Shumway had 25 points, while Eric Mika had 19 points and T.J. Haws poured in 17 as the Knights improved to 24-1 on the year. The Knights are two wins away from not only winning another state championship, but a national championship as well.
Lone Peak is getting national attention these days, as evidenced by a
story that appeared Wednesday in the
New York Times.Lone Peak will face Brighton in the 5A semifinals Friday. The Bengals defeated Viewmont, 69-58, behind 26 points from Brandon Miller.
The other semifinal will pit Alta against American Fork. The Hawks knocked off Weber, 49-43, as R.J. Beard poured in a game-high 15 points.
The Cavemen defeated Syracuse, 41-37, as Ryan Andrus went off for 22 points and 11 rebounds.
