SALT LAKE CITY (ABC-4 Sports) - At the start of the season, Carlos Boozer heard nothing but boos from Jazz fans. Now, it's all cheers. Boozer has been on fire the last couple of weeks. Over the last seven games, Boozer has averaged 24 points and 11 rebounds, while shooting 60 percent from the field, including a season-high 28 points on 12 of 14 shooting last night against Chicago. Plus, he's having fun again.
"Oh, I'm having a blast," said Boozer. "I'm having a good time out there, my teammates are trying to find me, and I'm just trying to put the ball in the hole and get us a win."
Head coach Jerry Sloan has also been impressed with his star power forward. "I think he's played some of his best basketball since he got through the start of the season," said Sloan. "He's playing like he's capable of playing."
If he keeps playing like this, Boozer thinks the Jazz will soon get as hot as he's been.
"I told you guys, if they keep us together, we could be really good," said Boozer "We're getting there. We're not where we want to be yet, we got some ground to make up. But I said that year after year after year. We got a lot of talent on this team, and if we stay together, we can be really good."
So, after last night's season-high performance against the Bulls, should the Jazz make Thanksgiving games a tradition?
"Absolutely!" said Boozer. "Why not? And I'm about to go home right now and get some more turkey."
No doubt, with all the trimmings. Boozer will try to keep his hot streak going Saturday night when the Jazz host Portland.
