It's been a good day.

I had to get to the Omni Hotel in Fort Worth early this morning so I could talk with both BYU and Tulsa.  And by early, I mean 9:30.

Anyway, I was able to talk with Bronco Mendenhall along with Matt Reynolds and Jameson Frazier.  We all chatted about what the Cougars need to do in order to take down the Golden Hurricane in the Armed Forces Bowl tomorrow.

While I like the fact the Cougars have won eight of their last nine games this season, I can't get over the fact that Tulsa's four losses all came to teams ranked in the top-20 of the BCS.  The Golden Hurricane (that's right, singular, not plural) are good, folks.  TU averages over 450 yards a game.  But BYU's defense only gives up 20.3 points a game.  That ranks 23rd in the country.

Speaking of the Cougars, they closed out the season by scoring 40-plus points in their last three games.  This is their 7th straight bowl appearance.  Yes, Bronco's doing something right.  I'm going to go ahead and say that Cody Hoffman and Ross Apo will be the key for BYU tomorrow.  Riley Nelson has gotta love throwing the ball to those guys.
The last time BYU & Tulsa met, the 'Cane won 55-47 for their only win over the Cougars.  Both teams have continued to light up scoreboards, for the most part and the AFB usually produces some big-time offensive showdowns.

Hold on to your hats, my friends, because I'm thinking tomorrow could get a little crazy.

Oh, and if you haven't seen THIS article on how the Armed Forces Bowl trophy was made, make sure you check it out.  VERY cool stuff.
