Ashburn, VA (Sports Network) - Washington Redskins cornerback Cedric Griffin has been suspended by the NFL for the final four games of the season for violating the league's policy on performance enhancing substances.

He will be eligible to return to the active roster on Dec. 31, a day after the club closes out the regular season against Dallas.

Griffin has compiled 33 tackles while starting two of the nine games he has played this year.
