Tennessee Titans running back Chris
Johnson, Oakland Raiders defensive end Lamarr Houston and kick
returner/defensive back Devin McCourty were named the AFC Players of the Week
for Week 7.
Johnson rushed for 195 yards while scoring his first two touchdowns of the
season, one an 83-yard score, on 18 carries to help the Titans to a 35-34
victory over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. For Johnson, it was the fourth time
in his career he has ran for over 190 yards in a game.
In the Raiders' 26-23 overtime win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston
recorded eight tackles, a sack, and forced the fumble that led to Sebastian
Janikowski's game-winning field goal in OT.
McCourty returned six kickoffs for 199 yards, including a 104-yard touchdown
return for the Patriots, who defeated the New York Jets 29-26 in overtime. His
touchdown return was the second-longest in Patriots' history and was the first
for New England since Oct. 4, 2010.
