Tempe, AZ (Sports Network) - The Arizona Cardinals placed quarterback Kevin Kolb on season-ending injured reserve Wednesday.

Kolb hasn't played since a Week 6 loss against Buffalo, and has been hampered by an injury to his ribs suffered in that 19-16 loss.

For the season, the 28-year-old Texan completed 109-of-183 passes for 1,169 yards with eight touchdowns and three interceptions.

To fill the roster spot, the Cards signed guard/center Mike Gibson.

Gibson spent the last three years with the Seattle Seahawks, participating in 20 games. He had been in training camp with the Eagles, but was cut on Aug. 31.
