SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 Sports) - The NBA slam dunk champion is staying in Utah.

TNT's David Aldridge first reported that Jeremy Evans agreed to a 3-year, $5.5 million deal to stay with the Jazz. Evans, a restricted free agent, was given a qualifying offer with the Jazz last week.

The 6-9, 194-pound forward captured the slam dunk title during NBA all-star weekend this past February. He just finished his second season with the Jazz, playing in 29 games averaging 2.1 points and 1.8 rebounds per game. He played in 49 games as a rookie, averaging 3.6 points per game.

A second round draft pick out of Western Kentucky in 2010, Evans could have signed an offer sheet with another team, but the Jazz would have been able to match it.
