Arlington, TX (Sports Network) - The Texas Rangers signed relief pitcher Jason Frasor to a one-year contract on Thursday.

Frasor, 35, made 50 appearances for the Toronto Blue Jays last season, posting a 1-1 record with a 4.12 earned run average.

Over nine major league seasons, Frasor has a 26-31 record in 525 career appearances with a 3.77 ERA.

He has spent almost his entire career with the Blue Jays and is the team's all-time leader in appearances (505) and has made at least 50 relief outings in eight of his nine seasons.

To make room for Frasor on the 40-man roster, catcher Eli Whiteside was designated for assignment.
