Houston, TX (Sports Network) - The Houston Astros signed pitcher Jose Veras to a one-year contract on Friday.

Veras spent last season with the Milwaukee Brewers, pitching to a 5-4 record with a 3.63 earned run average and a save in 72 relief appearances.

The 32-year-old righty has a 19-17 record with five saves and a 4.01 ERA over 327 career games with the Yankees, Indians, Marlins, Pirates and Brewers.
