DRAPER, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A maintenance worker was hit and killed by a car while working on a storm drain in Draper Wednesday evening.

Police say the car was driven by a man who turned into the area that was not intended for vehicles going that direction..

Witnesses reported that the man was working on a storm drain inside the parking lot near the Cowabunga Bay water park in Draper.

He was transported to IMC medical center in Murray in critical condition where he later died.

Police later identified the worker as 52-year-old Thayne Hansen.

The incident is under investigation.
