WEST BOUNTIFUL (ABC 4 News) - Here's a question for you - When was the last time you looked at your New Year's resolution? Right now a West Bountiful woman is still working hard on her goal to lose 100 pounds. ABC 4 took a camera and followed her to see what she's doing to stick with it.
It starts with a little less -
“I can only have six strawberries today,” said Krista Maurer, West Bountiful resident.
- and may take little more.
But Krista Maurer is on track to make her New Year's resolution and lose 100 pounds by the end of the year.
"In fact she'll probably hit it a couple months before that,” said Porter Brinton, Nutrition & Exercise Consultant, Total Health & Fitness.
She's already lost 35 pounds of pure fat, and tells us it's definitely worth the sweat.
“There are weeks that are definitely harder when I feel like Porter has it in for me, but it works. So I'll do whatever he says,” said Maurer.
Every day she makes herself several balanced meals, drinks plenty of water, and follows a rapidly changing workout plan.
“I've learned you have to shock your body each week to in order to get weekly results,” she said.
“So many people get to this point and they realize it's going to take them awhile to get to where they want to be and a lot of people give up at this point and she's stuck through thick and thin,” said Brinton.
Krista admits she's still getting used to her diet.
“Ha ha! In my head I always a picture a triple layer chocolate cake,” said Maurer.
And there are times she wants to quit. But she reminds herself losing the weight for good won't be a quick fix.
“I want this and I'm doing it, and no matter how long it takes I'm going to put in the time,” said Maurer.
If you want to see specifically what she’s doing each day Krista writes a daily blog, and posts detailed information in every entry.
