BLANDING, Ut (ABC 4 News) - A family spokesperson confirms James Redd, charged with stealing Indian artifacts, killed himself with carbon monoxide.
Redd left a note for his family Thursday morning saying he planned to go to a nearby pond.
When he didn't return his family called their LDS bishop who found Redd dead in his jeep.
James Redd, along with his wife Jeanne, was indicted his week on a felony charge of stealing Indian tribal property.
It's not the first time Redd is in trouble for damaging Indian burial sites. In 2003, the couple agreed to pay $10,000 to resolve charges of desecrating a corpse after police say they saw the couple and some of their children digging at the site.
He is survived by his wife Jeanne and their four children.
