SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The Utah Transit Authority is considering reducing the number of trains on one of its TRAX lines this April.

The proposal would apply to its line between Sandy and the University of Utah. It comes as UTA is facing a $38 million shortfall.

TRAX riders could still go from the university to Sandy in 15 minute intervals, but they would have to transfer at the Gallivan Station in downtown Salt Lake City first.

UTA will hold several public hearings on the proposed changes this month.
