SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Five people were injured, two of them critically, in a crash on Bangerter Highway Sunday afternoon.
Just after noon, the two vehicles collided on 2700 West Bangerter in Salt Lake.
Two small children were caught in the crash, but received minor injuries. Two women were rushed to area hospitals by helicopters.
Captain Clint Smith of Unified Fire said, "The children, the 2-year-old boy and infant, were probably restrained, which is, kudos to the parents to make sure that happened. Definitely prevented them from sustaining any serious injuries in this accident."
Everyone in both vehicles were wearing their seat belts. The two men driving the vehicles suffered injuries and were also sent to area hospitals for treatment.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
