OGDEN, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A children's book author and grandmother of six went skydiving to help benefit the Literacy Action Center.

56-year-old Jill Vanderwood jumped out of a plane as part of a fundraiser for the literacy center in Salt Lake City. She took off and landed at Ogden’s skydive center at the Ogden Hinckley airport on Saturday.

Vanderwood plans to travel statewide educating children on the small ways they can help preserve the environment for themselves and future generations.
