SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News)-Crews are working around the clock in Daybreak to get the Gomez home completed for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition's "big reveal" Wednesday.

Sunday, Real Salt Lake players showed up to lend a hand. They are personal friends of seven year old Jonah Gomez who will soon be living in the home.

Michael Maloney from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition says the Daybreak build is right on schedule. "It's just amazing. The community has come together in a phenomenal way. We are on target with our build."  Where there was an empty lot... there is now a home.  "I think it really says a lot for Salt Lake City. People show up, they care. They follow through."

Sunday it was players from Real Salt Lake giving it their all for a little boy who is their number one fan, and who has stolen their hearts. Kyle Beckerman says Jonah brings out the good in everyone. "He pretty much smiles ninety percent of the time."

Chris Wingert says he can’t wait to play soccer with Jonah in his new home. "We had a fun little kick around in his front yard a week or so ago but I am sure he will be ready to test out the new spot."

Jonah has a rare blood disease, but Beckerman says he doesn't let it stand in the way of his love for soccer.  "Jonah is my little buddy he's got that same passion in soccer that I had at his age”

Saturday night at the Real game fans were getting swabbed to see if they could be a bone marrow match for Jonah. Meanwhile, Jonah was in L-A at another game, the Gold Cup. Wingert says he was the one standing next to the team captains at the beginning of the game. "They were there .It was just them to do the coin flip with the refs before the game kicked off , and 90-thousand people were there, and I saw a little boy with them and I didn't thing anything of it and I looked a little bit closer and said, wait a minute, that's Jonah."

The interior of this home is a secret, but it's a safe bet something inside will reflect soccer is Jonah’s favorite sport. Michael Maloney won’t give any hints but says there’s a lot of good work being done.  "Each member of this family has been looked after, thought of, and there are going to be really special treats for everyone in the family in the house."
