WEST JORDAN, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A standoff that began early Saturday morning led to what police in West Jordan are calling a murder-suicide.
Police responded to the home near 6800 S. Triumph Lane around 3:00 a.m., after a concerned friend called 911.
When officers arrived, they found the suspect barricated inside the home. During four hours of negotiations, officers learned the suspect had killed his girlfriend who was still inside the home.
The standoff ended shortly before 7:00 a.m. when the suspect took his own life.
Officers say they are still trying to piece together what took place leading up to the incident, but they tell ABC 4 that there is a history of domestic violence at the address.
ABC 4 will continue to follow this story and have the latest developments at 5:00 p.m.
