PROVO, Utah (AP) - A judge has canceled a hearing for a Provo woman accused of starting an apartment fire that killed two people and injured a third after prosecutors offered her a plea deal.
Utah County prosecutors say Yvette Kimber now has 30 days to accept the deal or stand trial on two counts of murder, one count of aggravated arson and one count of aggravated assault.
The fourth charge of assault was added Thursday just before a planned preliminary hearing in Provo's 4th District Court.
Deputy District Attorney Donna Kelly would not discuss the details of the plea offer.
Karen Murray and Catherine Crane were killed in
the March 14 fire at the Boulders Apartments. A third woman was hospitalized.
If convicted of the charges, the 45-year-old Kimber faces life in prison.
