SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Police arrested 51-year-old Marco Herrera for a sexual relationship with a fourteen-year-old female on Thursday. Herrera was employed at West High School as a counselor and the alleged victim was a student at West High School.

Police say Herrera was arrested on a $250,000 warrant issued for three first-degree felony counts of rape; two first-degree felony counts of forcible sodomy; and five second-degree felony counts of forcible sexual abuse. Herrera was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.

During the initial investigation into these allegations, police say West High School immediately decided to suspend, and ultimately discontinued their employment of Herrera. Additionally, West High School has been fully cooperative with the police investigation, according to investigators.

Salt Lake City Police believe that Herrera may have victimized additional juveniles. If parents have reason to believe that their child may be a victim, they are asked to call Salt Lake City Police at 801-799-3000.
