SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - U.S. Senate hopeful Tim Bridgewater has started airing ads during conservative radio talk shows in his bid to win the Republican nomination for the seat.

Bridgewater is one of seven Republicans challenging U.S. Sen. Bob Bennett for the GOP nomination. Federal Election Commission reports show Bridgewater has loaned himself $276,000 for his Senate bid, giving him the most cash of any of Bennett's challengers through December.

Advertisements in the run up to the May 8 GOP convention are rare. That's because candidates are only targeting about 3,500 delegates. If any candidate fails to get 60 percent of delegate votes after several rounds of voting, the top two candidates face off in a June primary.

Tim is the ethical true-conservative we need to represent Utah. Tim has the private sector experience to know what it really takes to create private sector jobs, not make-work, shovel ready, and IRS agent jobs.

I like the new radio spots for Bridgewater - they are "spot on" - meaning that they highlight the new choice for a Senator who is ready to make some difficult decisions to get the nation's fiscal house in order. We need Bridgewater.

I like Tim. I started our supporting another challenger, but quickly switched to Tim. My reason: after all the candidates get thru talking about who is most conservative, only Tim has a realistic idea of what needs to be done to correct past mistakes and get our country and economy back on track. I like his radio spot/ads. We need more "self made men" stepping up to the plate as our advocates in Congress. Tim is level headed and approachable. These traits will serve him and us well.

All the candidates are touting their Constitutional credentials, and Bridgewater's are as good as any of them. What sets him apart is his practical experience. He knows what happens to the businessman (and the family man) when the restraints of the Constitution are thrown away. g

Tim Bridgewater is working very hard to meet, talk with each state delegate and learn what issues are at the heart of the race. Per the radio spots, I've heard them and I like them. I especially like that Tim is a self made man and has the practicality of a businessman. His experience in the private sector enables him to provide common sense business solutions to the entitlement and debt problems created in D.C
