April trial for woman charged in fatal Provo fire

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A judge has set an April trial date for a woman accused of starting a fatal fire at a Provo apartment complex.
Court records show a 10-day trial for Yvette Kimber will begin April 23. Fourth District Judge Lynn Davis set the date during a hearing Wednesday.
The 46-year-old Kimber is charged with two counts of murder and one count of aggravated arson in the March 14 blaze at the Boulders Apartments in Provo. Two women were killed and a third was seriously injured.
Kimber has pleaded not guilty to the charges. If convicted, she faces a life prison sentence.
Police reports say Kimber told officers she had fallen asleep with a cigarette in her hand and was attempting to commit suicide.
Kimber also reported the fired to 911 operators.
