JUAB COUNTY (ABC 4 News) - A father and his son -- who disappeared while hunting for antlers in an area southwest of Utah Lake -- were found Monday afternoon in Juab County, after they apparently slid off the road and got stuck in the snow.
Robert and Mike Jacobson departed Sunday morning to go "shed hunting," according to family members. The men were supposed to return by 8 p.m. Sunday, but they never arrived. Family members went looking for the men but turned up nothing -- not even the white Chevrolet pickup they were driving.
Robert is 50-years-old, and his son Mike is 27. The pair said they were going to the Keg Mountain-Cherry Creek area of Juab county, which is just south and to the west of Utah Lake. Between 30 and 40 volunteers and the Juab County Sheriff's Office searched for the men early Monday before the men were finally located.
Family members were concerned about the men because they didn't take food or warm clothing, because they only expected to be gone for a few hours.
Officials say the men spent the night inside their pickup truck, after sliding off the road near Eureka and getting stuck in the snow. On Monday, the pair were spotted by a plane flying overhead and their location was then passed on to searchers.
Both men are reported to be in good condition.
