SOUTH JORDAN (ABC 4 News) - Authorities are looking for the person or persons who made off with an 8-foot tall faux snowman -- which was part of a drunk driving awareness campaign -- from a local grocery store last weekend, officials said.

The snowman, made of a foam composite, had been placed in the parking lot of a Harmon's Grocery Store -- located near 11400 South Parkway Plaza Drive in South Jordan. Officials said it was stolen some time between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Authorities believe that more than one person was involved in the theft, due to the snowman's size and weight of 200 pounds. Police also said the thieves would also have required a truck to move it.

The snowman was apparently one of three placed in the Harmon's parking lot to promote awareness of drunk driving.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the South Jordan Police Department at (801) 840-4000 and reference case no. 13F001931.
