MOUNTAIN GREEN, Utah (AP) - Utah authorities have found the wreckage of a small plane that left the Morgan County Airport and crashed about nine miles away.

Officials say a Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter spotted the plane about 11:30 a.m. Friday in a heavily wooded and mountainous area.

The Utah Civil Air Patrol says the single-engine Cessna 210 took off from the airport Thursday night, and the Federal Aviation Administration says the plane was bound for Douglas, Wyo.

National Transportation Safety Board spokesman Peter Knudson says three people were killed in the crash. An investigator is expected to arrive Saturday.

Morgan County Sheriff's Sgt. Jason Lee says the plane was spotted on a mountain slope about nine miles northeast of the airport.
