OREM, Utah (ABC 4 News) – Women and guns seems to be on the rise across the country. In 2009, the National Shooting Sports Foundation reported a 73% increase in gun sales to women. Women aren’t just buying more guns, but learning how to use them. Women of Caliber in Orem teach women how to properly use a gun.

Kellene Bishop is the woman behind the scenes at Women of Caliber. She says her purpose is to “empower women with physical and firearm self-defense.” Through class work women can accurate and competent execution and learn the classes to get UT Concealed Firearm Permit.

I just have to say, I was totally impressed with Emily. This was her first time to shoot a firearm EVER and she did it on live TV. Not only that, but in less than 20 minutes she was consistently hitting the targets well beyond a standard self-defense distance. Way to go, Emily!!
