HURRICANE, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A woman who was shot by a Washington County Sheriff's deputy has been released from a hospital and booked into jail.

Officials say JoAnn Boone led police on a chase in Washington County that ended with gunfire at a Hurricane gas station.

Police say the chase began after Boone was taken into custody in St. George and then escaped.

Officials say Boone displayed a weapon and stole a police vehicle, resulting in a chase involving multiple agencies.

Authorities say spikes were deployed and the chase ended on route 9, where Boone tried to steal another car at a nearby Chevron gas station.

During the standoff, officials say a deputy fired a weapon and struck Boone, ending the standoff.
