I too found my birth father through Facebook. I've recently got in contact with him for the very first time in 24 years, never met him ever! We've even spoken on the phone :) it feels amazing, and to think I was about to deactivate my account!

Hey, my name is Gabrianna Crawley Alford. I've never met my father Juan Martinez. I've never seen a picture of him or even heard his voice on the phone. I just read this story and got inspired to look for him. He knew a woman by the name of Brenda Crawley/Spencer in Alaska. If anyone knows anything about this, I'd really appreciate it if you'd let me know. I have a twitter account and Facebook (looking for relatives).

I am a 45 yr old female who has never been able to find my biological father, I was born in Lynn Mass in September of 1967, my mother told me when I was 13, I think at that time she didn't realize that I would never forget the words she spoke to me. He was a married man supposedly going through a Divorce (Back then) needless to say, here I am 45 years later and still I have never met him. I know he worked in a Greek restaurant in Lynn, I was never fortunate enough to know his last name. My mom passed away and took that secret with her. I have done so much research with little luck. Congrats to all who have been able to have success!!!

If the adoptive mother had sent her natural mother pictures then why was she unable to tell her about her natural mom?? I think it shows how far adopters will go to hide the truth. I'm so happy that the search went smoothly for her though! Everyone deserves to know their natural family and have the right to their original birth certificate....even if adopters and the money makers of the adoption industry will do any and everything to conceal the truth.

When I had my first son, almost eighteen years ago, I searched for my birth mother and found her. She was, let's say less than enthusiastic about me contacting her. She said she forgot about that along time ago. She wanted no further contact from me. I know I have half siblings, but they have no idea about me. They chose not to tell the children. I was fine with that but it is so unfair not knowing who you are. I have no medical history and have to wing it when it comes to telling my kids their medical history.

Hey. I am a 46 year-old adoptee who found my first mother 14 years ago. Here's some advice from my own experience. My birth mother did not want to be thanked for placing me for adoption. She regretted her decision. To say "I'm glad I was adopted" is synonymous in her mind with saying "I'm glad you didn't raise me," which was hurtful beyond measure. Jenessa might want to hear the full story about the circumstances surrounding her placement, and then decide what to express gratitude for. One must go into a reunion with no expectations.

Fantastic news! Your mother's email brought happy tears to my eyes. My mother's comment to me was similar: "I thought I'd never see you again." With no thanks to New York law - I was 55 by the time I found her. Here's to many happy years together!
