HURRICANE, Utah (ABC 4 News) A police chase in Washington County ended with gunfire at a Hurricane gas station. It began after police arrested a female suspect in St. George. The woman managed to escape police custody while being taken to jail. She displayed a weapon and stole a police vehicle. Multiple police agencies chased the woman to Hurricane.

Spikes were deployed and the chase ended on route 9, and the confrontation turned into a standoff at a nearby Chevron gas station. A deputy fired their weapon and struck the suspect, ending the standoff. The suspect's condition and the reason she was arrested in the first place are unknown. ABC 4 News will continue updating the story.

i was working at the gas station when it happened it was pretty scary, i heard the gunshot and then saw the police arrest and then search her,then i saw then lift her shirt up and i saw her bullet wound in her chest and i could hear the woman screaming,i am still somewhat shaken up by the whole thing
