Utah's first 'flex lanes' in Taylorsville

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Utah's first flex lane was turned on Wednesday. If you've driven on 5400 South from Bangerter Highway to 1900- West in Taylorsville you've seen the flex lane lights.

It was these same geniuses at UDOT who blessed us with the "thru U turns" in Draper at the intersection of 12300 South and State Streets. Bring your lunch, since you'll have plenty of time to eat it while waiting for the light to change, only to get caught behind some blind driver who can't see a brightly-lit, 2-square foot red neon circle indicating "NO LEFT TURN" in the desired direction. But then, again, what logical thinking person would ever imagine that you should drive another block beyond that point and then execute a "U" turn at yet another slow-changing light, only to execute a "U" turn to return you to the selfsame intersection in order to execute a right turn where you hoped to turn left to begin with. And people wonder why I say, "Yep, urine Utah for sure!"
