SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A suspect in the killing of a 15-year-old Utah girl has been sentenced to prison on kidnapping and drug charges unrelated to the teen's death.
Daniel Robert Ferry, of Sandy, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a felony kidnapping charge and two felony drug charges.
As part of a plea agreement, a district court judge sentenced Ferry to serve one to 15 years in prison.
Police say Ferry is a suspect in the death of Anne Kasprzak. Her body was found in the Jordan River in March after her family reported her missing.
The kidnapping charges against Ferry stemmed from allegations that he kidnapped a woman he said owed him money. Court documents say Ferry forced others to beat and throw darts at the woman and shave her head.
