SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A boy in Saratoga Springs is taking a stand against bullying. Once a victim himself, Tyler Garcia has now come up with a way to get schools involved in the fight against it… and he’s only nine years old.

“He would like be mean like grab my wrists and slap my face I just didn't like the way he treated me,” said Tyler when describing his experience with bullying.

Tyler started making anti-bullying bracelets to remind himself and others how hurtful bullying can be.

“I wanted to have a reminder of the bracelets to stop bullying,” he said. “I think it’s a bad thing because you can get hurt, you can get your feelings hurt.”

Tyler’s mom tells ABC4 it was painful to learn her son was being bullied.

“When he came to me and told me, obviously it broke my heart because as a parent you want to protect your kids and you can't be with them at school all the time,” said Rachel Garcia.

Tyler and his mom tell ABC4 there are not a lot of school-based programs that educate kids on bullying. Tyler wants to change that. So he created "All Ty'd Up". He calls it a kid-run company that sells the bracelets for $6 and donates $1of the proceeds to anti-bullying programs in schools.

“When he gets an idea we don't doubt it because he will follow through and do what he says he’s going to do,” said Rachel.
Tyler's mom is proud of the way her son handled his bullying and how he now wants to help others. Tyler said he's just doing what needs to be done.

“It shouldn't be happening to kids,” he said.

You're such a smart kid! I just hope he did a big change on his own school. I agree with Tyler’s mom that it is so painful when you can see your son being hurt when all those years; you are giving all of your best to protect them. I usually check my children so that I will know if they get physically bullied because I was once a victim also. It developed low self esteem and frightens me every time I go to school. But my children are also bullied but in a different way. I don't see bruises but I can see their depression. Then I found out that they are bullied using their social networking accounts. I searched a solution to at least monitor these accounts without invading their privacy. Gladly, I found this service in the net, PGGUARD. You can search it also; it helped me a lot since it will send alarm whenever my children are being harassed online. I wrote this also to let other mothers know that they can make a move to protect their children with the use of technology. Thanks!

I get inspired with those people that even though how much they are pulled down by others still they manage to stand up and fight bullies. We could really never tell each personalities that's why its better to be always prepared. Check this smart phone app I saw from the net. It has cool features like GPS location, 911 escalation and most a single press of a panic button could alert any one from your family. It's good to think that no matter what happens you can ask for help anywhere or anytime it may be with safekidzone.

Love this story. I may buy a few bracelets to show Tylet my support. I know any parent would be devastated to find out their chiild was bullied, but many wouuld deny or just not know if their child bullied someone elses child. We should all take at look at home and make sure our childern are not being bullied but also know how treat all people with respect and ensure we are not unknowingly part of the problem!

WOW! I am so impressed that a boy at that age has the courage to stand up and make a difference. So many children in his situation have been bullied into fear and don't feel safe to be able to take a stand. I hope that other families and children will be more aware and look into this great Anti Bully campain and take a stand against being bullied. I hope other children and adults will take courage in Tylers strength to go forward and make a positive difference. Where can we buy one of his Anti Bully Bracelets? GREAT JOB TYLER

There arent to many people, let alone kids who could take such treatment and turn around and do something totally positive with it. There's a young man who defines the meaning of courage. We should all follow his example and try just a little bit harder each day to make a positive change in our communities. What an example you are Tyler, you will and you are going.......TO CHANGE THE WORLD!
