SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Police say the 2-year-old boy who fell from a third-story window at a West Jordan Apartment building has passed away.

Police also identified the child as Nicholas Quirones.

Police say at about 2:00.pm. Thursday, the boy fell through a screen in of a third floor window of the apartment building on Campus View Drive (3900 W.) and Cobble Ridge Drive (6960 S.) in West Jordan.

Witnesses said the boy fell into a into an open window well, and that paramedics performed CPR on him for nearly 20 minutes.

On Friday, West Jordan Police sent a message on Twitter indicating that Quirones passed away Thursday night while adding, "Our prayers are with the family."
